Clove-Infused Vaseline Moisturizing Balm

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Vaseline (petroleum jelly)
  • 1–2 teaspoons clove essential oil (adjust for fragrance and sensitivity)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for extra moisturizing)
  • 1 teaspoon beeswax (optional, for firmer balm)

Instructions:

  1. Melt Vaseline and beeswax (if using):
    • In a double boiler, gently heat the Vaseline and beeswax until completely melted.
  2. Add coconut oil:
    • Stir in coconut oil until fully combined.
  3. Infuse clove oil:
    • Remove from heat and add clove essential oil. Mix thoroughly.
    • Important: Do not overheat essential oil, as heat can degrade its properties.
  4. Pour into containers:
    • Carefully pour the mixture into small clean jars or tins.
  5. Cool & set:
    • Let it cool at room temperature or in the fridge until solid.
  6. Seal & label:
    • Keep the balm in a cool, dry place.

Tips:

  • Patch test first: Clove oil can be strong; test a small amount on your skin to avoid irritation.
  • Adjust firmness: Add more beeswax for a firmer balm, or more Vaseline/coconut oil for a softer texture.
  • Storage: This balm can last up to 6–12 months if kept away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • Application: Great for dry lips, cuticles, elbows, or any dry patches on skin.
