Ingredients
- 1 whole lemon (organic preferred)
- 3–5 garlic cloves (crushed)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 1 cup warm water
- Optional: a small piece of ginger (grated) or a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra effectiveness
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Wash the lemon thoroughly and slice it into thin rounds or wedges.
- Peel and crush the garlic cloves to activate their allicin compound.
- If using ginger, grate a small piece (about ½ teaspoon).
- Combine and Steep:
- In a cup or jar, add the sliced lemon, crushed garlic, and ginger (if using).
- Pour 1 cup of warm (not boiling) water over the ingredients.
- Cover and let steep for 10–15 minutes.
- Strain and Sweeten:
- Strain the mixture into another cup.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of raw honey until dissolved.
- How to Use:
- Drink this remedy once in the morning and once before bed for 3 days.
- Store any unused mixture in the fridge and rewarm slightly before drinking.
Tip:
This natural remedy combines the antibacterial and antiviral properties of garlic with the vitamin C and detoxifying effects of lemon. Raw honey soothes the throat, while warm water helps loosen mucus.
