Ingredients
- 1 whole garlic bulb (about 10–12 cloves), peeled and crushed
- 1 large lemon, sliced (with peel if organic)
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger (optional but recommended)
- 1 tablespoon honey (preferably raw)
- 2 cups water
- 1 pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for added effect)
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients:
Peel and crush the garlic cloves. Slice the lemon into thin rounds. Grate the ginger if using. - Boil the mixture:
In a saucepan, add water, lemon slices, garlic, and ginger. Bring it to a boil over medium heat. - Simmer:
Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes. - Strain and sweeten:
Strain the mixture into a cup or jar. Add honey and a pinch of cayenne pepper if desired. Stir well. - How to use:
Drink 1/2 cup warm in the morning and another 1/2 cup before bed. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Warm it before drinking.
