Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp salt
For the Filling:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a small bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
- Knead for about 8–10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Make the Filling:
- Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Assemble the Rolls:
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about ¼-inch thick).
- Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll it tightly from the long side, then cut into 12 even pieces.
- Second Rise:
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and cover. Let them rise for another 30–45 minutes.
- Bake:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls.
