Cinnamon Pudding Dessert Recipe

A warm and comforting cinnamon pudding, perfect for a cozy dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream or cinnamon sticks (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt.
  2. Add Milk and Egg Yolks: Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth. In a separate small bowl, lightly whisk the egg yolks. Add a few tablespoons of the milk mixture to the egg yolks, whisking constantly to temper them (this prevents the eggs from scrambling). Then, pour the tempered egg yolks into the saucepan.
  3. Cook the Pudding: Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken and bubble. Continue to cook for 1-2 minutes, still stirring, until the pudding is thick and smooth.
  4. Add Butter and Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until they are completely melted and incorporated.
  5. Cool and Serve: Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes. Cover the dishes with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  6. Garnish (Optional): Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of extra cinnamon or a cinnamon stick.

Enjoy!
