Ingredients

  • For the Churro Bites:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional for Serving:
  • Chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
  • In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms. Let it cool for about 5 minutes.
  1. Mix in Eggs:
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  1. Heat the Oil:
  • In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  1. Fry the Churro Bites:
  • Using a pastry bag or a spoon, drop small balls of dough (about 1 inch in diameter) into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  1. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:
  • In a bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together. While the churro bites are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve warm with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping, if desired. Enjoy your delicious churro bites!
