Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Crust:
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Filling:
    • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate Topping:
    • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

Instructions:

Make the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, and salt.
  3. Stir in melted butter until combined.
  4. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.

Make the Filling:

  1. In a large bowl, cream together peanut butter, butter, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Spread the filling over the crust.

Bake:

  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Let cool completely before adding the chocolate topping.

Make the Chocolate Topping:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
  2. Spread the melted chocolate over the cooled bars.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into bars.
