Chocolate Fudge Pecan Pie Recipe

A decadent dessert combining the richness of chocolate fudge with the nutty crunch of pecans.

Ingredients:

  • For the crust:
    • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
    • 3-4 tablespoons ice water
  • For the filling:
    • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions:

  1. Make the crust: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough just comes together. Shape into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, whisk together condensed milk, cocoa powder, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Assemble the pie: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the dough to a 12-inch circle. Fit into a 9-inch pie plate, trim the edges, and crimp as desired.
  4. Pour the filling: Pour the chocolate fudge filling into the prepared pie crust. Sprinkle the top with chopped pecans.
  5. Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Cool: Let the pie cool completely before serving.

Optional: Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
