Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (for drizzle)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and combined.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If using chocolate chips, fold them in.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool in the pan.
- While the brownies are cooling, prepare the chocolate drizzle: in a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over low heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the 1/2 cup of chocolate chips until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled brownies.
- Let the drizzle set for about 10-15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
