Chicken Tenders

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
  • 2 eggs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate: In a bowl, combine chicken tenders with buttermilk. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for extra tenderness).
  2. Prepare Coating: In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne. In another dish, whisk eggs. In a third dish, add breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Remove tenders from buttermilk, dip each piece into flour, then eggs, then breadcrumbs, pressing to coat evenly.
  4. Fry: Heat oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken tenders in batches for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temp: 165°F).
  5. Drain & Serve: Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
