INGREDIENTS
- 2 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough or Italian works great)
- 1 cooked chicken breast (grilled, breaded, or rotisserie – sliced or shredded)
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Optional: fresh basil or parsley for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
- Prep the Bread:
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder. Spread this mixture on one side of each bread slice. - Layer the Sandwich:
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet over medium heat.- Add half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Layer the sliced or shredded chicken on top.
- Spoon marinara sauce evenly over the chicken.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese.
- Add the remaining mozzarella.
- Top with the second bread slice, buttered side up.
- Grill the Sandwich:
Cook until the bottom is golden brown (about 3–4 minutes), then carefully flip and grill the other side until golden and the cheese is melted. - Serve:
Remove from the skillet and let it rest for 1–2 minutes. Slice in half and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
