Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast (shredded or sliced)
- 6–8 slices deli ham
- 6–8 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or puff pastry)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Roll out the crescent dough and press seams together to form a rectangle.
- Place the dough on the baking tray and make diagonal cuts along both sides (about 1 inch apart).
- Spread Dijon mustard in the center (optional).
- Layer chicken evenly down the middle, followed by ham and Swiss cheese.
- Fold the side strips over the filling, alternating left and right to create a braid pattern.
- Brush the top with beaten egg and melted butter mixture.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, black pepper, and parsley on top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Tips
- Use rotisserie chicken for quicker preparation.
- Don’t overfill the braid, or it may open while baking.
- Seal edges gently to keep cheese from leaking out.
- Add a light cream sauce or honey mustard drizzle for extra flavor.
- Serve with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
