Chicken and Stuffing Casserole recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken (shredded or cubed)
  • 1 box (6 oz) stuffing mix (like Stove Top)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1/2 cup milk (optional, for creamier texture)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for topping)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/2 cup cooked vegetables (peas, green beans, or corn)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the stuffing according to package directions, but use only 3/4 of the water/butter amount for slightly firmer texture.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk (if using). Stir in shredded chicken and vegetables if using. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Top evenly with prepared stuffing mix.
  6. Drizzle melted butter over the top for golden crispness.
  7. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
