CHEEZ PUFF PASTRY recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • A pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and milk together to make the egg wash.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth it out a bit.
  4. Brush the surface of the pastry lightly with the egg wash.
  5. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over half of the pastry, along with Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper if using.
  6. Fold the other half of the pastry over the cheese side, pressing down gently.
  7. Brush the top with more egg wash and sprinkle a little extra cheese if desired.
  8. Cut into small squares or strips, depending on the shape you like.
  9. Place the pieces onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  10. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown, puffy, and cheesy!
  11. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
