Cheesy Texas Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of Texas toast (thick-sliced bread)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  3. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture on each slice of Texas toast.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the buttered slices.
  6. Place the toast on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. For extra browning, broil on high for 1-2 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
  9. Serve warm as a side dish or snack.
