Cheesy Taco Breadsticks

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup cooked taco meat (beef, chicken, or turkey)
  • 1/4 cup diced green onions (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Marinara or salsa for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the dough: Roll the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 10×12 inches.
  3. Add fillings: Sprinkle taco meat evenly over the dough, then top with cheese and green onions if using.
  4. Season: Sprinkle garlic powder, chili powder, and paprika over the top.
  5. Cut and twist: Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into 1-inch strips. Twist each strip gently and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake: Brush melted butter over the breadsticks. Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Serve: Serve warm with marinara sauce or salsa for dipping.

Tips

  • Cheese variation: Try pepper jack or mozzarella for a different flavor.
  • Make it vegetarian: Swap taco meat with black beans or cooked veggies.
  • Extra crispiness: Brush with garlic butter halfway through baking.
  • Freezing: You can freeze unbaked twisted breadsticks and bake them later—add 3–4 extra minutes to the baking time.
