These easy-to-make rolls are a delicious and crowd-pleasing appetizer or snack. The combination of savory sausage, melty cheese, and flaky puff pastry is irresistible!
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 lb. cooked sausage, casings removed and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare filling: In a large bowl, combine crumbled sausage, shredded cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Cut puff pastry: Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the sheet in half lengthwise, then cut each half into four long strips.
- Assemble rolls: Place a generous spoonful of the sausage mixture on the center of each pastry strip.
- Roll and seal: Roll up the pastry strips tightly around the filling, starting from one end. Pinch the seam closed tightly to prevent filling from oozing out.
- Brush with egg: Brush the tops of the rolls with beaten egg.
- Bake: Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Serve: Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
