Ingredients:
- 1 pound mushrooms (cremini, button, or a mix), sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Gruyère, mozzarella, or a blend)
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1-inch thick pieces
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mushrooms:
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and begin to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
- If using, pour in the white wine and cook until it has mostly evaporated.
