INGREDIENTS
- 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried parsley)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for a kick
- Optional: marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the garlic butter: In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Top with cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the buttered bread. Add red pepper flakes if using.
- Bake on a baking sheet for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Broil (optional): For a golden top, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
- Slice and serve hot, with marinara sauce on the side if desired.
