Ingredients
- 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
- In a bowl, mix the softened butter and minced garlic until well combined. Add a pinch of salt.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the buttered bread, then top with grated Parmesan.
- Add oregano and chopped parsley if using.
- Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cheese side up.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- For extra golden cheese, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes—watch carefully to prevent burning!
- Slice and serve warm.
