Cheesy Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread (or Italian bread)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place both halves cut side up on the baking sheet.
  3. Mix the topping: In a bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the bread halves.
  4. Add cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over both halves, then top with grated Parmesan. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  5. Bake for about 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For extra golden cheese, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end—just watch it closely!
  6. Cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm as a side dish, appetizer, or snack.
