This easy and delicious casserole is a family favorite! It’s like a giant pizza baked in a casserole dish, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen pizza crust, thawed
Instructions:
- Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain off any excess grease.
- Sauté vegetables: Add the onion and green pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Combine ingredients: Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add spinach: Stir in the thawed and squeezed spinach.
- Layer the casserole: Spread half of the pizza crust in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with half of the beef mixture and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
- Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Let the casserole stand for a few minutes before cutting and serving.
