Cheesy Beef Burrito Wrap

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade mix)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup cooked rice (optional, for extra filling)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup salsa or diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed (optional)
  • 1/2 cup corn (optional)
  • 4–6 large flour tortillas
  • Chopped lettuce and diced tomatoes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant (about 2–3 minutes). Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  2. Season:
Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  3. Add extras:
Mix in black beans, corn, and salsa (if using). Cook another 2–3 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted and well mixed.
  4. Assemble the wrap:
Warm the tortillas. Spread a spoonful of sour cream on each one. Add a scoop of beef mixture, a bit of rice (if using), and your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, and extra cheese.
  5. Wrap and toast (optional):
Fold in the sides and roll tightly into a burrito. If you like it toasted, place the burrito seam-side down on a dry skillet over medium heat and press gently until golden and crisp.
  6. Serve:
Cut in half and enjoy with extra sour cream or salsa on the side!
