Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade mix)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup cooked rice (optional, for extra filling)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup salsa or diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed (optional)
- 1/2 cup corn (optional)
- 4–6 large flour tortillas
- Chopped lettuce and diced tomatoes (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook the beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant (about 2–3 minutes). Add the ground beef and cook until browned. - Season:
Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened. - Add extras:
Mix in black beans, corn, and salsa (if using). Cook another 2–3 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted and well mixed. - Assemble the wrap:
Warm the tortillas. Spread a spoonful of sour cream on each one. Add a scoop of beef mixture, a bit of rice (if using), and your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, and extra cheese. - Wrap and toast (optional):
Fold in the sides and roll tightly into a burrito. If you like it toasted, place the burrito seam-side down on a dry skillet over medium heat and press gently until golden and crisp. - Serve:
Cut in half and enjoy with extra sour cream or salsa on the side!
