Ingredients:

  • For the Filling:
    • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 1 egg
    • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • For the Crust:
    • 1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Beat in milk and egg until well combined. Stir in pecans, if using.
  3. Assemble the Casserole: Unroll the crescent roll dough into a rectangular sheet. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll up the dough: Starting from a long side, tightly roll up the dough jelly-roll style.
  5. Cut and Place: Cut the roll into 1-inch slices and arrange them in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.

Tips and Variations:

  • For a richer flavor: Use a combination of cream cheese and sour cream for the filling.
  • Add fruit: Fold in 1 cup of fresh or frozen berries (such as raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries) to the filling.
  • Make it festive: Top the casserole with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a drizzle of melted chocolate before serving.
  • For a quicker option: Use pre-cut crescent roll triangles instead of the sheet.
