Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 1/4 cup pickles, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 10-12 egg roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon until browned and cooked through.
- Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened.
- Stir in the ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until combined.
- Remove the skillet from heat, then mix in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped pickles (if using). Let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Add about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture in the center.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to form an egg roll.
- Seal the edge of the wrapper with a little water.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat for frying. Once the oil is hot, fry the egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with extra ketchup and mustard for dipping.
