Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and boiled
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika or red chili flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (cut into cubes for stuffing)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (for coating)
- Oil for frying
🍽️ Instructions
- Prepare the potato mixture:
Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth. Add salt, pepper, paprika, parsley, and 1 egg. Mix until well combined. - Shape the balls:
Take a spoonful of the potato mixture, flatten it in your hand, and place a cube of cheese in the center. Roll it into a ball, covering the cheese completely. Repeat with the remaining mixture. - Coat the balls:
Roll each ball in flour, dip into beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. For extra crispiness, double-coat (egg → breadcrumbs again). - Fry:
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side. - Drain & serve:
Remove onto paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!
