Cheese Stuffed Potato Balls

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika or red chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (cut into cubes for stuffing)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg (for coating)
  • Oil for frying

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Prepare the potato mixture:
Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth. Add salt, pepper, paprika, parsley, and 1 egg. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the balls:
Take a spoonful of the potato mixture, flatten it in your hand, and place a cube of cheese in the center. Roll it into a ball, covering the cheese completely. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  3. Coat the balls:
Roll each ball in flour, dip into beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. For extra crispiness, double-coat (egg → breadcrumbs again).
  4. Fry:
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Drain & serve:
Remove onto paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!
