Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes (boiled & mashed)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (approx.)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp oil or melted butter
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar, or mix)
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onion (optional)
  • 2 tbsp milk or water (adjust if dough is dry)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough:
    • In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, salt, sugar, and oil.
    • Add flour, baking powder, and a little milk/water. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Stuff with cheese:
    • Divide dough into 2–3 balls.
    • Flatten each ball, place shredded cheese in the center, fold over, and shape into a round flat bread.
  3. Cook in frying pan:
    • Heat a nonstick pan on low-medium heat and brush with a little oil or butter.
    • Place the bread in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Serve:
    • Slice and enjoy warm, cheesy potato bread with tea, soup, or as a snack.
