Ingredients
- 2 medium-sized potatoes (peeled and boiled)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or any cooking oil)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) for extra flavor (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes: Boil the potatoes until soft. Drain and mash them well, making sure there are no lumps.
- Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything well. Gradually add in the shredded cheese and knead the dough until it’s soft and smooth. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour.
- Shape the Bread: Take small portions of the dough and form them into small balls or patties, depending on your preferred size.
- Cook the Bread: Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the dough balls or patties in the pan and flatten them slightly with a spatula. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Once cooked, remove from the pan and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with butter, or enjoy them as a snack or side dish!
