Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 cup plain yogurt (or milk)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (optional, like parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Add yogurt, egg, and melted butter to the flour mixture. Stir until combined into a soft dough.
- Fold in Cheese: Add the shredded cheese (and herbs if using) and gently fold it into the dough.
- Shape the Bread: Divide the dough into 4–6 equal pieces and shape them into round or oval flatbreads about 1/2 inch thick.
- Preheat Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or heavy pan over medium-low heat. Lightly grease it with oil or butter.
- Cook the Bread: Place the shaped breads in the skillet (cook in batches if needed). Cover with a lid and cook for about 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Brush with extra melted butter if you like. Serve warm and enjoy your quick, cheesy bread!
