Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using). Stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir gently to combine. The dough should be thick but well-mixed.
- Fold in the shredded cheese and parsley (if using), ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before removing and transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve. Enjoy your delicious cheese bread warm, with butter if desired!
