Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using). Stir to combine.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir gently to combine. The dough should be thick but well-mixed.
  5. Fold in the shredded cheese and parsley (if using), ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let the bread cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before removing and transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and serve. Enjoy your delicious cheese bread warm, with butter if desired!
