Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a tangy flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (optional, such as parsley or chives)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
  3. Add the shredded cheese to the dry ingredients and stir until it’s evenly distributed.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and sour cream (or Greek yogurt).
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and serve. Enjoy the cheesy goodness!
