Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp paprika or cayenne pepper (optional, for a slight kick)
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and paprika or cayenne if using.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it’s well coated with the flour mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
