Ingredients
- Fresh Castor Oil Plant seeds or leaves (Ricinus communis)
- Water
- A clean cloth or strainer
- A small pot for boiling
- A glass jar for storage
Instructions
- Collect the Seeds or Leaves: Harvest mature seeds or fresh green leaves from the castor oil plant. Be careful — the seeds are toxic if ingested raw, so handle them with care.
- Boil the Leaves (Optional): If using leaves, boil them in water for 10–15 minutes to extract their beneficial compounds.
- Extract the Oil (Traditional Method):
- If using seeds, lightly crush them and heat gently until the oil starts to separate.
- Filter the oil using a cloth or strainer to remove impurities.
- Cool and Store: Let the oil cool down and transfer it to a clean glass jar. Store in a cool, dark place.
- Use Carefully: The extracted castor oil can be used for hair growth, skin care, joint massage, or as a natural lubricant, but should never be consumed internally unless it’s a purified pharmaceutical-grade oil.
Note: Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, making it a powerful natural remedy — but the raw plant parts are poisonous if not processed correctly. Treat it with respect!
