Casserole de Patatas Ralladas

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream or whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine grated potatoes, shredded cheese, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Pour this mixture over the potato mixture and mix until evenly coated.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
  5. If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them over the top for an extra crispy crust.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set in the middle.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
