- 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream or whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine grated potatoes, shredded cheese, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Pour this mixture over the potato mixture and mix until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
- If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them over the top for an extra crispy crust.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set in the middle.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
