- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp butter (melted)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
- Ice cream or whipped cream (for serving)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dumpling Dough:
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add melted butter and water gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Shape and Cook the Dumplings:
- Roll the dough into small bite-sized dumplings.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the dumplings for about 3-4 minutes until they float.
- Drain and set aside.
- Caramelize the Dumplings:
- In a pan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and stir until it starts to melt and bubble.
- Pour in heavy cream and cinnamon, stirring to create a smooth caramel sauce.
- Add the cooked dumplings, tossing them in the caramel until fully coated.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Transfer the caramelized dumplings to a serving dish.
- Top with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
