Ingredients
- 2 lbs (about 1 kg) chicken legs or wings
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup honey or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp ground ginger (optional)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red chili flakes (optional, for a little spice)
- Fresh parsley or green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), ketchup, olive oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and chili flakes. Stir well to make the marinade.
- Add the chicken legs or wings to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or refrigerate for 2 hours for richer flavor).
- Line a baking pan with foil and lightly grease it. Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer.
- Pour the remaining marinade over the chicken.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the chicken is caramelized and cooked through.
- For extra caramelization, broil for 3–5 minutes at the end until golden and sticky.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions, and serve hot!
Would you like me to include a sweet & spicy version or keep it just caramelized and savory?
