Ingredients:
For the Base:
- 1 cup (135g) plain flour
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar
- ½ cup (45g) coconut
- 125g melted butter
- ⅓ cup (130g) golden syrup
For the Caramel:
- 790g sweetened condensed milk
- 125g butter
For the Chocolate Topping:
- 250g milk chocolate
- 20g vegetable oil
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Base:
- Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).
- Line a 20x28cm rectangular baking tin with baking paper.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and coconut.
- Add the melted butter and golden syrup, and mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture into the prepared tin, ensuring an even layer.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
2. Make the Caramel:
- In a saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and butter.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and turns a golden brown color. This may take about 10-15 minutes.
- Pour the caramel over the cooled base and spread evenly.
3. Add the Chocolate Topping:
- Melt the milk chocolate and vegetable oil together in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel and spread evenly.
4. Set and Serve:
- Refrigerate the slice for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate is set.
- Cut into squares and serve.
