Cake Mix Toffee Bars recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toffee bits (like Heath bits)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the base: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until a thick dough forms.
  3. Press into pan: Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Top it: Sprinkle the chocolate chips and toffee bits evenly over the dough. If using nuts, add them now as well.
  5. Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  6. Cool completely: Let the bars cool in the pan before cutting into squares or bars.
  7. Serve and enjoy! Perfect for potlucks, parties, or a sweet treat at home.
