Cake Mix Toffee Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (or butter cake mix)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toffee bits (like Heath bits)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Press about two-thirds of the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and toffee bits evenly over the dough.
  5. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the chocolate chips and toffee bits.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the top — it won’t cover it completely, and that’s okay!
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and set in the center.
  8. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
