- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: Powdered sugar or whipped cream for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the microwave or oven: If using the microwave, prepare a microwave-safe bowl or mug. For the oven, preheat to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add wet ingredients: Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well-combined.
- Microwave version: Pour the batter into a microwave-safe bowl or mug and microwave for about 1-2 minutes, or until the cake has risen and a toothpick comes out clean. Oven version: Pour the batter into a greased cake pan or muffin tin and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Serve: Let it cool for a minute or two before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or serve with whipped cream.
