Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup boiling water
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually pour in the boiling water while stirring continuously. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay.
- Pour the batter into a microwave-safe mug or bowl.
- Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a minute before serving. Optionally, top with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or fresh berries.
