Cajun Shrimp Cheeseburger

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar or pepper jack cheese
  • 4 beef or chicken burger patties (optional if you want surf & turf style)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season Shrimp – In a bowl, toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil until coated.
  2. Cook Shrimp – Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add butter or oil, and cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove from pan.
  3. Cook Patties (optional) – If making surf & turf style, grill or pan-fry the burger patties to your desired doneness. Add cheese slices on top during the last minute to melt.
  4. Toast Buns – Lightly toast the brioche buns in the skillet or oven for extra flavor.
  5. Make Sauce – Mix mayonnaise with hot sauce in a small bowl. Spread on both sides of the buns.
  6. Assemble Burgers – Place lettuce on the bottom bun, then add the cheeseburger patty (if using), top with Cajun shrimp, tomato slices, onion, and pickles.
  7. Serve – Close with the top bun and enjoy your spicy, cheesy Cajun Shrimp Burger!
