Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (olive or vegetable)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 green chili (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander (chopped)
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala (optional)
  • 1 tomato (chopped, optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili. Cook for a minute until fragrant.
  4. Add chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft and mushy.
