Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (or milk)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • Extra oil or butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using).
  2. Add the yogurt and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms. If it’s too sticky, add a bit more flour.
  3. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 4–6 equal balls. Flatten each ball into a round flatbread about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Brush lightly with oil or butter.
  6. Place one flatbread in the skillet. Cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Repeat with remaining flatbreads. Keep warm in a clean kitchen towel.
  8. Enjoy warm with butter, cheese, or your favorite dip!
