Ingredients
- 3 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
- 2 tbsp olive oil (or butter)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 egg
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or any cheese you like)
- ½ cup pizza sauce or tomato ketchup
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- ½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
- Toppings of your choice (sliced tomatoes, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc.)
- Fresh herbs (parsley or oregano) for garnish
Instructions
- Peel and grate the potatoes. Place them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much water as possible.
- In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Spread the potato mixture evenly into a round “pizza base.”
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy on the bottom. Flip carefully and cook the other side for another 5 minutes.
- Once both sides are crispy, spread pizza sauce on top of the potato base.
- Sprinkle cheese and add your favorite toppings. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh herbs, slice, and serve hot.
✨ Crispy, cheesy, and ready in minutes—no dough needed!
Would you like me to make this more like a crispy hash-brown pizza base, or more of a soft potato pancake-style base?
