Better than Pizza! Just Grate the Potatoes! Easy, Quick, and Cheap Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or butter)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or any cheese you like)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce or tomato ketchup
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • Toppings of your choice (sliced tomatoes, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc.)
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or oregano) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Place them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much water as possible.
  2. In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Spread the potato mixture evenly into a round “pizza base.”
  4. Cook for 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy on the bottom. Flip carefully and cook the other side for another 5 minutes.
  5. Once both sides are crispy, spread pizza sauce on top of the potato base.
  6. Sprinkle cheese and add your favorite toppings. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat until the cheese melts.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs, slice, and serve hot.

✨ Crispy, cheesy, and ready in minutes—no dough needed!

Would you like me to make this more like a crispy hash-brown pizza base, or more of a soft potato pancake-style base?
