Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or whole wheat)
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for extra crispiness)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. For extra crispiness, spread mayonnaise on the outside instead of butter.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet.
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over the bread. Add a pinch of garlic powder for extra flavor.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook for 2-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 2-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
- Remove from the skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice and enjoy!
