INGREDENT
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 3 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp melted butter (plus extra for cooking)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. - Add Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl or measuring jug, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using). - Combine & Mix:
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined — the batter should be slightly lumpy. Do not overmix! - Preheat & Grease Pan:
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil. - Cook Pancakes:
Pour about ¼ cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set (about 2-3 minutes). Flip and cook another 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and fluffy. - Serve Warm:
Serve stacked with butter, maple syrup, fruit, or your favorite toppings.
