Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
- Scoop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
