INGREDENT
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- Optional: 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly soft — that’s perfect!
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Tips:
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch!
