Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

INGREDENT

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly soft — that’s perfect!
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Tips:

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  • Sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch!
