Beef Broccoli in Noodles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 oz beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 oz egg noodles or lo mein noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and a pinch of pepper. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Noodles: Boil the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Blanch the Broccoli: Boil or steam the broccoli for 2 minutes until bright green. Drain and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan or wok over high heat. Sear the beef for 2 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan.
  5. Sauté the Aromatics: Add another tbsp of oil. Stir-fry garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  6. Make the Sauce: Add beef broth, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and remaining soy sauce. Stir well.
  7. Combine Everything: Return the beef to the pan, then add the broccoli and cooked noodles. Toss everything together. Drizzle sesame oil and sprinkle red pepper flakes if desired.
