Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
- 300 g (about 10 oz) beef strips (sirloin or flank steak)
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Green onions or sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the rice and set aside.
- In a bowl, toss beef strips with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and half the soy sauce. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add beef strips and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until they start to brown. Remove beef from the pan.
- In the same pan, add onion and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
- Return beef to the pan. Add remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and cornstarch slurry. Stir until the sauce thickens and coats everything. Adjust seasoning.
- Spoon cooked rice into bowls and top with the beef and pepper mixture.
- Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Would you like me to make it spicy (with chili sauce or red pepper flakes) or keep it mild?
